Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Opportunity

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The ideal candidate will be a Fellowship trained, Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon with a strong background in orthopedic trauma surgery. The physician will work closely with our existing orthopedic team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the growth and development of our orthopedic program.
Responsibilities:- Providing orthopedic athletic care for local NCAA division two colleges
- Evaluating patients, reviewing and interpreting patient health history, conducting physical exams, and reviewing laboratory, x-ray, and other test reports to determine diagnosis
- Developing and implementing treatment plans and providing education to patients
- Performing orthopedic surgical procedures
- Evaluating hospitalized patients during preop and postop periods, monitoring progress, and releasing patients from the hospital
- Recognizing abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery, and/or medication and implementing corrective actions as appropriate
- Documenting care and cases; completing paperwork to ensure payment for services rendered
- Participating in call coverage at a level two hospital with trauma backup
- Maintaining knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading relevant articles, journals, and related material, and by attending seminars, conferences, and so forth
- Serving as an engaged orthopedic team member at THSM and working to build, support, and grow the orthopedic program
- Board Eligible and Certified in Orthopedic Surgery within five years of completion of residency
- State of Michigan license, DEA license, ACLS, and BLS certifications required at time of employment
