Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Response: Conduct regular patrols of the campus, including motor vehicle, foot, and bicycle patrols, to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and other incidents, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Investigations: Conduct investigations of reported crimes and other incidents, and prepare reports and recommendations for follow-up action.
  • Community Engagement: Interact with students, faculty, and staff to provide information and assistance, and to promote a positive and safe campus environment.
  • Training and Compliance: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest safety and security protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, such as law enforcement or security.
  • Certifications: Possession of a valid BSIS Guard Card and Baton Permit, as well as current CPR, OC Spray, and First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

The Public Safety Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions, and will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
