Organization: Community Action Partnership of North Alabama
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Center Director
Salary: $9.50 per hour; 240 days; 8 hours per day
Position Overview:
The Custodial and Food Service Staff member is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all. This role encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the facility and supporting food service operations.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including children and families.
- Familiarity with health regulations and performance standards is beneficial.
- Dependability and punctuality are critical.
- Mechanical skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Prepare and manage cleaning solutions safely.
- Conduct minor pest control measures as needed.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness of trash receptacles.
- Ensure emergency equipment is functional and well-maintained.
- Monitor and maintain the condition of cleaning equipment.
- Keep track of and inventory cleaning supplies.
- Carry out minor repairs within the facility.
Food Service Responsibilities (if assigned):
- Coordinate meal counts and assist with meal delivery.
- Manage cleanup operations post-meals.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of food containers and service vehicles.
Additional Duties:
Support the mission of the organization and undertake other responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the role.
Work Environment:
This position involves working primarily in a school setting with moderate exposure to potential hazards. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and operate cleaning equipment.
