Pipeline Construction Assistant

Energy Transfer is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pipeline Maintenance Technician Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing duties related to the maintenance, construction, and repair of our pipeline and terminal assets.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with safe excavation practices and locate, probe, and mark the location of underground utilities and pipelines.
- Act as a spotter during mechanical excavation of pipeline and respond to high-priority and emergency situations.
- Provide welder helper duties during pipe fabrication, pipe cutouts, and repairs.
- Operate tools and equipment, including beveling machines, grinders, torches, hoists, welding machines, etc.
- Apply joint and pipe coating to pipeline assets prior to backfilling.
- Assist during hydrostatic testing activities and perform periodic and routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
- CDL required or ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Ability to safely use hand/power tools and work in all types of weather conditions.
- Travel for extended periods required (80% travel).
- Willingness to respond to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis.
- Climbing at least 60 feet on stairs several times per week.
- Climbing at least 7 to 11 feet on ladders or scaffolding several times per month.
- Lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. several times a week.
- Carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. for up to 50 feet on a weekly basis.
- Walking 100 yards or more over 10 times throughout the day.
