Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing equipment safely, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures according to established protocols and written orders.
  • Utilize equipment safely and according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Perform quality control on the gamma camera and other equipment as required.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and working properly.
  • Order the necessary isotope from the pharmacy and review physician's orders to determine the proper isotope required for each type of test ordered.
  • Obtain written consent for all invasive procedures from the patient, parent, or legal guardian prior to the exam.
  • Complete site identification procedure prior to the start of invasive procedure.
  • Utilize appropriate skills in accurately and descriptively documenting patient's pertinent clinical information, medical history, allergies, and other pertinent information.
  • Consult with radiologist or referring physician regarding contraindications to ordered exam.
  • Respond to emergency situations, i.e., contrast reactions and medical emergencies according to departmental, clinic, and hospital policy.
  • Advise the nurse in charge of the patient of any unusual occurrence which happened to the patient while in the Imaging Department.
  • Provide backup assistance to other associates in the department upon completion of duties or as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, certified and State of Florida Licensure.
  • American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (CNMT) registered.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • State Florida Licensure.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting.
Physical and Mental Demands

This role requires minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be self-starting and self-motivating, with the ability to work at a fast pace and prioritize multiple assignments/projects. The ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers is also essential.

Personal Protective Equipment

The successful candidate will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
