Position Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for scans, administering radioactive isotopes, and ensuring accurate diagnostic information is obtained. This role requires a commitment to service, safety, and professionalism to enhance the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient charts to determine necessary exams and tests.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including administering pre-medication and radioactive isotopes.
- Operate gamma cameras to scan patients and record radiation levels.
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive materials and patient histories.
- Assist in I-131 therapy and manage related schedules.
- Order radioactive isotopes as needed and maintain proper documentation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology and/or Nuclear Medicine.
- Preferred experience in an acute care facility and one year in nuclear medicine.
- Required licensure in the State of Texas and registration by ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
