Prepared Foods Team Lead

The Prepared Foods Associate Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. This role leads and develops Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Store Layout and Merchandising: Develops and maintains creative store layout and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Sales and Labor Targets: Works with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, ensuring the department operates efficiently and effectively.
- Analysis and Reporting: Assists the Team Leader in analyzing sales, reports, and labor, providing insights to inform business decisions.
- Product Knowledge: Demonstrates advanced product knowledge and stays up-to-date on new products, ensuring the team is well-informed and able to make recommendations to customers.
- Vendor Relationships: Maintains good vendor relationships, develops new vendor relations, and ensures all paperwork is properly submitted for vendor processing.
- Team Development: Works with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues, fosters a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
- Customer Service: Maintains awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and responds promptly to customer needs and questions.
- Team Member Development: Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrates leadership skills, decision-making ability, and ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Product Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of products, including ingredients, nutritional information, and preparation methods.
- Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures, including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- Team Member Experience: 18+ months retail Team Member experience.
- Supervisory Experience: 6+ months of supervisory experience.
- Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/Walking: In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand Use: Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Motions: Bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
