Progressive Care RN

The Progressive Care RN delivers patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients, making clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistently performing according to nursing standards and managing patient care and assisting others.
Responsibilities:
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unit. The RN collects information from healthcare members, identifies nursing diagnoses, and develops a plan of care to meet the patient's needs.
• Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs and assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition. The RN documents the patient's plan of care, including expected outcomes and interventions.
• Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirements and performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and hospital policies. The RN provides a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment, and initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education.
• Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions. The RN participates in and completes Amergis' Competency program, and meets all federal, state, and local requirements.
Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
