Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute group assignments as directed by the Sales Department.
- Maintain robust client relations and ensure that event specifications are clearly communicated and fulfilled for an optimal experience.
- Oversee on-site conference activities to guarantee timely and accurate execution of arrangements.
- Adhere to organizational standards while performing job responsibilities.
- Develop and nurture client partnerships, ensuring all details are communicated effectively for a successful event.
- Monitor and manage room blocks in accordance with contracts, utilizing historical data and client information to optimize hotel revenue.
- Review and validate sales contracts, including room blocks, cutoff dates, and special concessions with clients.
- Enforce program deadlines and collaborate with clients to release unneeded meeting space to maximize revenue.
- Propose enhancements or upgrades to improve revenue opportunities.
- Engage in site visits and client meetings as necessary.
- Prepare and distribute conference resumes prior to the arrival of the main group, updating hotel departments with any changes.
- Participate in weekly meetings, including Sales, Operations, and BEO meetings relevant to the role.
- Verify sleeping room blocks, special concessions, and rates as outlined in contracts with group reservations agents.
- Ensure accurate credit information is submitted in the account management system at turnover.
- Participate in Pre/Post Conference meetings and review billing with clients.
- Represent the hotel professionally at client and industry events.
- Continuously monitor competitive hotels for product quality, pricing strategies, and service offerings.
- Build and maintain rapport with the hotel community and key contacts to ensure a strong industry presence.
- Demonstrate a passion for excellence and a drive to outperform competitors.
- Attend all necessary department and hotel meetings.
- Act as a leader and role model for all associates.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as outlined.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience in a similar role within the hospitality sector.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage menus and pricing is preferred.
- Proven selling and negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals.
- Familiarity with sales software (e.g., Delphi/SalesPro) is advantageous.
- Professional demeanor with a service-oriented approach.
