The University of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled Content Manager to join its Student Affairs Marketing & Communications team. As a key member of the team, the Content Manager will play a crucial role in driving the division's content creation efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Content Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring timely and effective content delivery across various channels.
- Social Media Strategy: Provide social media planning, strategy, training, and best practices for departmental social accounts, ensuring consistency and alignment with the division's brand.
- Creative Asset Development: Create engaging and high-quality creative assets, including graphics, videos, and written content, to meet the division's social and content needs.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, schedule, coach, and lead a team of student workers, focusing on creating student-centered content and completing production assignments as requested by professional staff.
- Training and Development: Facilitate peer-to-peer training for student workers in marketing and communication roles within Student Affairs units, ensuring they have the necessary skills to create effective content.
- Feedback and Assessment: Develop consistent structures for frequent student feedback, generating insight for future projects and providing assessment and accountability to department and division work targeting a student audience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications, marketing, advertising, graphic design, public relations, communications, or related field.
- Experience: Experience in social media, content strategy, and creative asset development, with a strong understanding of relevant and on-trend content strategy and developing unique content for appropriate channels.
- Skills: Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and build effective relationships.
- Web Analytics: Knowledge and skills in the use of web analytics and paid digital desirable.
- Social Media Strategy: Experience implementing a well-defined social media strategy for a large-scale organization helpful.
- Team Leadership: Experience leading a team of content creators or managing creative production a plus.
