We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician II - Critical Care to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a critical care specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
- Observe, collect, and document patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
- Provide assistance to patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital experience, and discharge.
- Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in the plan of care for routine activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
- Provide indirect care to patients and assigned area, including cleaning the work area, changing linens, re-stocking supplies, cleaning/sterilizing instruments, transporting patients/supplies/specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees and students.
- Completion of an approved Nurse Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current Nurse Aide II Listing Card with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the NC Division of Facility Services Registry as a Nursing Assistant I.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Proficient in keyboard operations, application of word processing software, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to operate standard office machines.
