Your Role: To implement ASCS/Arthritis Foundation-endorsed exercise programs and support residents in achieving their fitness goals tailored to their age group. Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Director to develop the fitness program.
  • Conduct fitness classes and mentor instructors as necessary.
  • Innovate and design engaging programs that encompass both physical and cognitive activities.
  • Develop personalized training sessions that prioritize resident safety and capabilities.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of senior wellness and inspire older adults.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with residents.

  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Promote the fitness and wellness program effectively.
  • Address resident feedback regarding exercise facilities.
  • Report unresolved resident concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Oversee exercise rooms and equipment for safety and maintenance.
  • Secure physician approval for resident participation in fitness programs.
  • Ensure residents sign liability waivers before engaging in exercise sessions.
  • Utilize computer skills for documentation and data management.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of residents participating in fitness programs.
  • Facilitate weekly exercise classes for all residents.
  • Design and promote the fitness class schedule while tracking attendance.
  • Create and enhance wellness programming, including newsletters, activities, and workshops.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • ACE or AFAA certification is required.
  • Group Exercise Certification is advantageous.
  • Prior experience as a fitness coordinator or instructor is preferred.
  • Experience in adult or geriatric recreation is beneficial.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
