About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Prep Cook to join our team at Merrill Gardens at Anthem. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food products are prepared and served to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing all food items following production amounts, proper recipes, and procedures.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely fashion, utilizing batch-cooking and cook-to-order methods to ensure a fresh product.
  • Prepare all food products in a manner that ensures the highest level of Food Safety and preserves nutrients to meet the specific dietary requirements of our residents.
  • Attend all regularly scheduled dining services meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety standards, including cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and equipment before and after each use, practicing proper food handling and food storage procedures, and maintaining documentation of all temperature charts and records.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in quality food preparation.
  • Experience in scratch cooking in a high-volume, fine dining setting.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Outlook and Word.
  • 1-year previous dining experience in food preparation.
  • High School diploma required or GED; college degree or equivalent preferred.
