Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the role of Clinical Educator is tasked with executing various organizational and agency initiatives aimed at fostering professional development and enhancing clinical practices. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting clinical leadership to ensure that all nursing staff are equipped with the essential skills required to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clinical management to develop effective onboarding and orientation programs, ongoing education, preceptor training, competency assessments, and the professional growth of clinical staff.
  • Create educational curricula and resources grounded in evidence-based practices, integrating both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experiences.
  • Design and facilitate continuous learning opportunities for staff to enhance their competencies in patient care, teaching methodologies, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.
  • Establish a mentoring program for new hires aimed at strengthening the nursing workforce, providing exemplary role models, and delivering the necessary leadership and support for optimal patient care.
  • Oversee the implementation of a nurse residency program focused on skill development for new graduates and newly practicing RNs.
  • Coordinate educational initiatives related to OASIS and HIS/HOPE integration, emphasizing their significance in patient care and organizational functionality.
  • Contribute to the design of educational programs, classes, and activities.
  • Participate in the employee evaluation process, providing guidance and recommendations regarding personnel actions.
  • Support quality assessment and improvement initiatives, actively participating in the QAPI Committee.
  • Provide clinical insights to the QAPI/Compliance Manager regarding policy and procedure development and revisions, assisting in evaluating operations for compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing Education preferred (consideration for RN Clinical Educator experience in lieu of a Master's degree).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in staff development and training.
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, staff supervision, documentation, service coordination, and case management.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
