Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer to join our team at Hire Military Talent. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining our engineering standards, providing technical support to project managers and field specialists, and ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Engineering Standards
    • Develop and maintain pre-existing standards for specific customers in terms of global network and system additions and archives work electronically.
    • Accurately document all work in a neat, easy-to-read manner.
  • Provide Technical Support
    • Provide support to project managers and act as a technical consultant to our field specialists, electricians, subcontractors, customers, and consulting engineers.
    • Assist in identifying value engineering opportunities during design and installation.
  • Facilitate Project Execution
    • Facilitate the turnover from Engineering to Specialist providing all updated project information including scope of work and design intent.
    • Assist field personnel with technical coordination, problem solving, and resolving technical issues/questions during installation and startup.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers
    • Assist Project Managers with coordination of materials including confirming orders, tracking, and receiving.
    • Attend MEP and other technical project meetings as needed.
  • Track and Inform Discrepancies
    • Methodically track and inform PM of engineering/design-related discrepancies between Syserco's proposed scope of work and the owner/contractor's project requirements, including: scope gaps, deviations from plans and specs, missed items, scope adds, etc.
  • Provide Complete Turnkey System
    • Provide a complete turnkey system for use by technicians in the development of end-user software packages.
  • Maintain Engineering Library and Standards
    • Assist in maintaining the engineering library and standards.
  • Participate in Technical Discussions
    • Participate in technical discussion and resolve technical problems.
  • Assign and Monitor Tasks
    • Assign, monitor, and review tasks of support engineers when their labor is required to meet the general engineer's project deadlines.
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Consistent, clear, professional, and engaged communication with internal and external customers. Ensure quality, timeliness, and completeness of work performed within budget.
  • Adhere to Company Policies
    • Adhere to Syserco's Policies and Procedures, HR, Safety Plan, and others.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Engineering Undergraduate Degree, AA Degree in Applied Technology, or Equivalence in combination between work experience and education.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of HVAC DDC controls theory, applications, and systems.
    • Knowledge of electrical systems.
    • Detailed oriented and organized.
    • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Operation of standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications and use of computer equipment for extended periods of time.
    • May be required to sit, stand, bend, climb, and lift, push or carry items less than 50 lbs. around office and on occasion job sites.
    • Valid IL drivers' license with ability to drive and operate a vehicle is required.
