Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Healthcare Staffing Plus is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and families in a medical dermatology setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide physical care and emotional support to patients and families under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and Medical Director.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and treatment plans.
  • Administer medications within parameters defined by the Dermatology Service.
  • Photograph patients with various skin conditions using a variety of photographic procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities and support peers and colleagues in maintaining established standards of care.
  • Identify patient care needs and utilize nursing resources appropriately.
  • Triaging of patient urgent clinical calls and scheduling patient appointments, as well as Telehealth appointments.
  • Inform patients of pathology, lab results, and plan of care.
  • Utilize In-Basket messages to monitor all biopsies and ensure that all necessary therapies are administered as scheduled by the physician.
  • Provide clinical nursing coverage across the Medical Dermatology specialty services.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications as needed.
  • Participate in developing and implementing new ideas in nursing practice.
  • Appropriately utilize and conserve equipment and supplies.
  • Order medical supplies and maintain appropriate inventories.
  • Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding perceived unit needs.
  • Participate in unit and service committees.
  • Ensure that the physical environment is maintained.
  • Establish and enforce annual fire and safety regulations for the practice, following established protocols, and ensuring compliance with the Joint Commission, OSHA, and Hospital guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot routine/non-routine problems and take measures to correct/handle issue.
Requirements:
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification.
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current LPN Med/Surg experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited LPN program.
  • Active unencumbered LPN Hawaii state license.
  • One year of Epic experience.
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
