About the Role
Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in observability, you will design and implement large-scale systems that enable customers to monitor and analyze their workloads. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain cloud-native applications using Go, TypeScript, and Kotlin programming languages.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong background in leading design or architecture of new and existing systems. You should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in computer science concepts such as object-oriented design, data structures, concurrency, and performance optimizations.

We offer a competitive salary range of $151,300 - $261,500 per year, depending on your location. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. In addition to your base pay, you may be eligible for equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of our total compensation package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and test new product features using Go, Kotlin, and TypeScript.
  • Operate and maintain globally available 24x7 services that our customers rely on to monitor the health of their systems.
  • Contribute to open-source software, especially for projects in the observability space, such as Grafana, Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Help our customers by solving their immediate operational problems and influencing our roadmap to address their long-term needs.
