As a Medical Imaging Specialist, you will have the chance to develop your skills alongside a dedicated team, positively impacting patient experiences and their overall quality of care. Concentra empowers you to learn and engage in various aspects of medical services. You will conduct diagnostic imaging procedures and produce images for evaluation by licensed professionals, while also supporting and performing other routine medical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately based on the type of examination.
  • Conduct routine imaging exams as directed by the attending clinician.
  • Adjust equipment settings to regulate exposure duration and intensity.
  • Ensure quality assurance by performing necessary validity tests and maintaining compliance records.
  • Manage radiological film storage and retrieval, assisting with referrals and copies as needed.
  • Maintain logs for imaging sent out for referrals.
  • Position patients under imaging equipment, using immobilization devices and ensuring proper radiation safety.
  • Administer contrast agents as required for specific imaging procedures.
  • Assist in the treatment of affected areas under physician supervision, utilizing specified imaging techniques.
  • Document and maintain records of services provided.
  • Perform minor equipment adjustments as necessary.
  • Support healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, ensuring compliance with current policies and procedures.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities on equipment and testing processes.
  • Manage supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock examination areas.
  • Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
  • Facilitate patient flow and keep patients informed of wait times.
  • Handle clerical tasks related to patient care and record-keeping, ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Cross-train for front office duties, including patient greetings and authorization processes.
  • Answer phone calls as needed.
  • Participate in center staff meetings as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly facility.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current licensure in the state of employment, if applicable.
  • Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent credentialing agency.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).

Physical and Vision Requirements:

The role may require occasional lifting or moving of up to 30 pounds and assisting in positioning patients weighing up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include normal or corrected vision acuity, the ability to adjust focus, and color perception for operating equipment and reviewing documents.
