Physical Therapist Assistant

Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for performing various physical therapeutic treatments for patients with injuries or disabilities. Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will interact with patients and families, teach use of equipment and home exercises, and administer treatment programs in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with patients and families to educate on equipment use and home exercises
- Administer treatment programs, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, and gait training
- Record patient progress and reactions to treatment
- Instruct and provide technical direction to Physical Therapy Assistant students and technicians
- Counsel and teach patients and families on assistive devices and exercise techniques
- Two years of experience working as a PTA preferred
- Associates Degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program required
- Current licensure in the state of employment as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Current CPR Certification
- Current State of Tennessee Driver's license
- Current Auto liability Insurance according to Company Policy
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds
