Position Overview
This role as an Internal Auditor involves conducting comprehensive risk evaluations to prioritize audit activities and formulate tailored, risk-oriented audit strategies aligned with industry benchmarks and organizational controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and executing operational and IT-related audits, assessments, and special initiatives.
- Engaging in thorough research, interviews, and data analysis to effectively carry out projects.
- Crafting and implementing test plans to assess the design and efficacy of IT control measures.
- Collaborating with management to validate findings and collect responses.
- Drafting formal audit documentation and participating in quality assurance processes.
- Following up on identified issues to ensure corrective actions are validated.
- Working closely with team members and stakeholders throughout all audit phases.
Public Engagement
- Leading meetings with various internal stakeholders.
- Presenting audit findings to different management levels and addressing inquiries.
- Assisting in the preparation for public Audit Committee sessions and attending as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, public policy analysis, internal auditing, or finance.
- A minimum of three years of experience in internal or external auditing, with a solid understanding of internal auditing principles and proficiency in drafting audit reports for diverse management levels.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that effectively meets the essential job functions will also be considered.
Preferred Credentials
- Any of the following certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Knowledge Requirements
- Familiarity with professional standards from the Institute of Internal Auditing (IIA) and the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
- Understanding of IT controls and security frameworks from the Center for Internet Security (CIS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
