About the Role:

Gartner Researchers play a pivotal role in uncovering actionable business insights, distilling best practices, and bringing research models to life for world-leading clients. As a Senior Principal, you will be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and writing about critical issues facing senior-level executives using qualitative and quantitative research. You will also play a key role in supporting the entire lifecycle of a research project's evolution, leading the discovery of innovative ideas, and coaching/mentoring junior researchers in the development of their research practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead research teams through Gartner's proprietary research process, including hypothesis generation, primary and secondary research, and root cause analysis to identify best-in-class solutions.
  • Drive key findings from complex datasets and develop analytically sound, logically ordered research pieces.
  • Independently create and manage key research deliverables, including large research studies, white papers, case studies, presentations, and webinars.
  • Conduct interviews with senior executives, academics, and industry experts to uncover innovative ideas.
  • Develop insights that are practical and actionable, grounded in clients' workflows.
  • Be a key member of the Research team, contributing and owning entire project life-cycles from conception to completion, and improving the quality of intellectual debates.
  • Present research findings and collaborate with senior management and stakeholders, defending key ideas and advancing insights iteratively based on feedback.
  • Mentor, develop, and motivate one or more researchers across the entire project life-cycle.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Coding experience in R and advanced analytical methods preferred.
  • Experience and comfort with analyzing, synthesizing, and distilling large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Strong appetite to dive deep into a given terrain to develop expertise and distill key findings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with particular attention to precision of language and ability to organize information logically.
  • Intellectual curiosity and dedication to mastering complex environments; aspiration to continuously learn and improve.
  • Ability to manage projects and drive ideas forward to advance initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality material.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
