Position Overview
The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital is responsible for independently planning and delivering nursing care to patients, adhering to physician directives and established protocols, while operating within the parameters set by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The Staff RN III is tasked with overseeing the care of a designated group of patients, aligning with the mission and policies of Northside Hospital. Our nursing practice emphasizes collaboration, effective communication, coordinated care, integration of services, and empowerment of both staff and patients.

Career Progression
Northside Hospital's nursing roles are structured to support professional development, progressing from novice to expert levels. The responsibilities of the Staff RN III encompass all duties of the Staff RN I and II, in addition to the unique expectations associated with the Staff RN III designation.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current RN licensure in Georgia, in good standing without restrictions.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time nursing experience following orientation or residency training.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Additional cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (such as ACLS, NRP, PALS) may be required based on the specific clinical unit.
  • Refer to the specific clinical unit for further educational, competency, and certification requirements necessary for employment.
  • Other essential RN attributes may vary by unit; please consult the specific clinical unit for details.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • National Certification in a Clinical Specialty is preferred.
  • Additional preferred RN attributes may be unit-specific; please refer to the specific clinical unit.
