Pipeline Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Technician to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing all types of underground piping systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and select the correct parts and components for piping systems installation
  • Align and set pipe on grade using levels and lasers, and cut, fit, and connect pipe using seal joints, cement, glue, or other mechanical fittings
  • Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools, and dig trenches to desired depth
  • Install pipe components and cover/backfill with earth or other materials
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for a work activity
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, and take corrective action as needed
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in the field or related area
  • Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools
