POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director or Senior Program Director, the Chief Lifeguard is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and in adjacent areas. This role involves ensuring the pool is operational each weekday at 5:00 AM with the correct chemical balance, pump functionality, and adequate staffing. The Chief Lifeguard conducts weekly chemical inventory and possesses a fundamental understanding of the operations within the pump room, as well as proper chemical maintenance protocols. This position fosters a secure and welcoming environment that encourages member safety and participation in alignment with the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta's policies and procedures.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 4:45 AM-10:00 PM, including some holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certification
• CPR/AED, First Aid Certification
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Successful completion of background screening, including criminal and drug tests
