Finance Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to join our team at the City of Faribault, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the city, including budgeting, financial reporting, and financial planning.

• Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve the city's financial goals.
• Manage the city's budget, including preparing and presenting budget reports to the city council.
• Oversee the financial reporting process, including preparing and submitting financial reports to the city council and other stakeholders.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to city officials and departments.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Supervise and manage a team of financial staff, including accountants, budget analysts, and financial analysts.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Seven years of experience in finance administration or accounting, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Membership in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and adherence to the GFOA Code of Ethics.

• Municipal government experience or private consulting experience working with local governments.
• Master's degree in accounting, CPA license, or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) designation.
• Experience with Tyler Technologies ERP Enterprise software.

The Finance Director will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
