School Nurse Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team at Panama-Buena Vista Union School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional nursing services to students and staff, including case management, health education, and coordination of health care services.
Key Responsibilities- Identify students with health problems that interfere with effective learning and provide case management services to support their health and well-being.
- Employ case finding, screening, interviewing, and observation techniques to assess student health status and refer students with particular needs to higher level health professionals and/or community resources.
- Provide urgent nursing care for ill and injured students and school personnel, and refer patients to local health care providers for more advanced treatment.
- Implement programs directed at control of communicable diseases in the schools and conduct education on health and hygiene topics.
- Facilitate student/family access to school and community resources for health care and assist students/families to develop resources and make contact with outside services.
- Maintain professional competence by participating in required in-service education and health education programs designed to maintain healthcare credentials.
- California School Nurse Services credential and California registered nurse license required.
- Successful nursing experience is desirable.
- Ability to relate positively to parents, school personnel, and other lay and professional people.
- Ability to communicate effectively, with a pleasant voice and correct articulation, and use appropriate, professional language skills in writing and speaking.
The District offers a competitive salary range of $83,710 - $113,097, with eight (8) incremental steps, and additional compensation for Master's Degree holders or Doctorate Degree holders. The District also contributes up to $19,793.00 towards family, dental, medical, and vision insurance plans, along with a life insurance plan for the employee.
