Transportation Specialist

About the Job:

As a Transportation Specialist at Kansas Employer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clean, safe, and reliable transportation to students

• Ensure all activities conform to state school transportation guidelines

• Communicate effectively with school district staff and community members

• Implement all mandatory safety regulations for school buses

• Maintain discipline and report any incidents to the proper authority

• Keep assigned bus clean and well-maintained

• Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects

• Discharge students only at authorized stops

• Report all accidents and complete required reports

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid CDL license with required endorsements

• Meet all state requirements for Bus Drivers, including Defensive Driving, CPR, and First Aid Certification

• Successfully complete behind-the-wheel training

• Pass and be subject to drug tests as required by federal and state law

• Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged sitting

• Turning and reaching

• Driving skills, including ability to operate vehicle at night

• Work indoors and outdoors during the school year

• Work in noisy, crowded, stressful environments, with numerous interruptions
