About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Surgical Acute II team at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, ensuring a safe and organized environment.
  • Collect data and provide support to patients within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician.
  • Support the unit with patient logistics, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.
Requirements
  • CNA certification.
  • Preferred one-year acute care experience.
  • One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider, or current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instruction in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider.
