Job Title: Certified Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Schiffert Health Center in Blacksburg, VA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting the health and wellbeing of our student population.

About the Role:
  • Provide primary and specialty care to students, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries, and other health-related issues.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Participate in health education and promotion activities to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of healthcare policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements:
  • Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Virginia.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a college health setting, preferably with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of health education and promotion principles, with experience developing and implementing health education programs.
