Job Summary:

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in a part-time evening shift role. As a CNA, you will provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and daily living assistance to residents, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and vital sign collection.
  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
  • Document resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
  • Communicate changing resident conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
  • A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements.
  • Maintains all department-specific required certifications.
