Freight Payment Auditor

Reports To: Manager - Freight Audit & Payment

Environment: Hybrid (3 days in office; 2 remote)

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and hybrid Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Role Overview:

As a Freight Payment Auditor within our Managed Services division, you will be tasked with the efficient processing and auditing of carrier invoices in alignment with contractual agreements.

Your Daily Impact:
  • Input carrier freight bills accurately.
  • Conduct thorough audits of carrier freight bills.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Comprehend LTL carrier pricing, tariffs, accessorial charges, and reasons for invoice audit failures.
  • Understand TL carrier pricing and the rationale behind invoice audit failures.
  • Prepare and analyze data to manage carrier payables effectively.
  • Perform various clerical tasks, including answering calls and handling customer service requests.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate payments to carriers.
  • Identify reasons for invoice audit failures and work collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • Manage invoice work queues to ensure timely processing and transmission to clients.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret freight payment procedures and carrier pricing contracts.
  • Strong presentation skills to address questions from vendors and internal teams regarding carrier freight bills.
  • Understanding of the LTL and Truckload transportation sectors.
  • Knowledge of carrier pricing and invoice details.
  • Capability to manage diverse customer requirements for invoice audits.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate within a team environment.
Tools Utilized:
  • Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Teams, and TMS systems.
  • Experience with Paylocity and Harvest.
