About the Position
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a faculty position in Pharmacology/Toxicology at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative educational programs in Pharmacology/Toxicology
- Establish and maintain a strong research program in Pharmacology/Toxicology, with a focus on translational research and collaboration with industry partners
- Provide clinical consultation services to veterinarians and pet owners on toxicants, drug-resistant infections, and other pharmacology-related issues
- Participate in departmental and college-level committees to advance the mission of the college
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
- Board eligibility in Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology or Veterinary Toxicology
- Graduate degree in biomedical research (PhD or MS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Diplomate of the American or European College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology
- Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Toxicology
- PhD in a biomedical science-related area
