Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Charge Nurse for our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This role involves working full-time during night shifts (7p-7:30a) and managing a team in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

In this position, you will enhance your skills in caring for patients requiring advanced medical interventions, including mechanical ventilation, central venous access, and continuous renal replacement therapy.


Unit Details:
- Total Beds: 17 (5TN MICU); 14 (5G/6G MICU)

Patient Demographics:
Our patient population includes individuals with complex conditions such as respiratory disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, multi-organ failure, and complications from cancer therapies.

We maintain a targeted nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, and both units have been honored with the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, ranking in the top 10% for patient satisfaction.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years in a critical care setting.
- Active and unencumbered nursing license or temporary permit as approved by the relevant licensing board. Certification is preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

New hires and internal promotions must complete specified training and certification requirements within a designated timeframe.


Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations on the unit during your shift.
- Supervise nursing staff and facilitate effective communication with physicians and administrative personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
- Act as a change agent, leading initiatives that enhance organizational systems aligned with departmental goals.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, and collaboration with team members.
- Model expert communication and clinical judgment, influencing positive patient outcomes.
- Complete necessary reports and evaluations within established timelines, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Mentor and guide other nursing staff in their professional development.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment that values diversity and open communication.
