About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Statutory Accountant to join our team at MVP Health Care. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial filings with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial reports to insurance departments and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement in regulatory reporting.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor statutory and industry standards to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize and maintain applicable software for statutory reporting purposes.
  • Assist with state and federal inquiries, audits, and statutory examinations.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities for streamlining statutory reporting processes.
  • Provide management reporting packages to support decision-making.
  • Perform general ledger functions to assist with monthly close activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and compliance within the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Excel, financial reporting software).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, etc.
