Overview: This educational institution is in search of a qualified and passionate Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the upcoming academic year. This essential role focuses on delivering specialized educational assistance to students with hearing challenges, ensuring they receive equitable access to a comprehensive education.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Deliver direct instruction and support customized to the specific requirements of DHH learners.
  • Employ specialized teaching methodologies and resources to facilitate communication and enhance learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with general education instructors, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to foster an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Evaluate and track student progress, modifying teaching strategies and interventions as necessary.
  • Engage in effective communication with students, families, and colleagues to support educational objectives and address any issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey teaching certification in Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience in working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly advantageous.
