Position Overview:

The Registered Vascular Technologist is responsible for executing a range of specialized technical functions utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to capture reflected sound waves and generate images that are utilized for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes by healthcare providers.

The ideal candidate is dependable, diligent, and a collaborative team member, with the ability to adapt to various locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare medical apparatus, instruments, sterile techniques, and clinical supplies.

Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging by ensuring proper positioning, thoroughly explaining procedures, and alleviating patient anxiety.

Assist healthcare professionals during diagnostic imaging processes.

Manage instruments, operate and monitor equipment, and inform the physician of image interpretations while alerting them to any patient discomfort or changes in condition.

Assess and analyze image quality to ensure adequate representation of pathological conditions and comprehensive coverage of the examination area.

Process images according to established protocols and techniques.

Maintain patient documentation, including images and reports.

Confirm accurate patient information is linked to the corresponding medical record.

Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment to guarantee optimal performance.

Sanitize and sterilize instruments and replenish supplies as necessary.

Provide technical guidance and training to students, staff, and medical residents.

Perform additional duties as directed by the Office Supervisor or other authorized personnel.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree (or equivalent) in Imaging Technologies, along with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a hospital, surgical center, or similar environment.

Must hold an RVT certification or be eligible to obtain it. Candidates must also maintain an active professional license issued by the state if required.

Comprehensive knowledge of ultrasonic physics, instrumentation, and safety practices related to mechanical, electrical, and ultrasound operations in a patient care setting is essential.
