This role works under direct supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist and follows detailed instructions to provide therapeutic modality treatments, prepare therapy areas and patients for treatments, and transport patients via wheelchairs and stretchers. The incumbent maintains equipment and environment cleanliness, operability, and safety, adhering to Infection Control policies.
- To excel in this position, an individual must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to patient care areas.
Responsibilities include orienting and mentoring new staff, monitoring and assisting with patient care as instructed by therapists, and adapting behavior to specific patient populations. Additional duties may be assigned.
The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases due to working within a healthcare setting, which may involve hazardous medications or waste disposal. Ochsner LSU Health System is committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
As a member of our team, you will have opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care. We offer competitive compensation packages, including estimated salaries ranging from $35,000 to $55,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.
