Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to obstetric and gynecological patients, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop plans to address these needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and OB Triage.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
  • Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for patient care and safety.
  • Ability to work in a float position, supporting other units as needed.
