JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is within an outpatient treatment facility that offers a comprehensive range of services in general acute care, including emergency care, imaging, and ambulatory surgery.

The technologist will perform both X-ray and CT imaging to assist with outpatient and emergency department patient schedules and will be required to be on call.

Computed Tomography Technologists utilize advanced CT scanners to generate cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. The role necessitates the ability to accurately interpret physician instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate CT scanning equipment, and position patients effectively to capture the necessary images. It is essential for a CT technologist to maintain good health, as the role involves maneuvering equipment and assisting patients with mobility challenges. Proper safety protocols must be followed due to the radiation emitted by CT scanners, which can pose risks if not managed correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience

• Minimum of two years of current experience as a CT Technologist
• Strong critical thinking abilities
• Prior travel experience is preferred
• Two years of experience with Epic EMR
• Experience with injections is preferred; however, the facility can assist with certification.

License/Registration/Certification

• ARRT credentials for diagnostic imaging and a valid New York State license. Must obtain the enhanced New York State license for injections during the introductory period. CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Active, unencumbered New York License
• ACLS/BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association

Education and Training

• Associate Degree - Graduate of an accredited radiology program

Physical Requirements - Must be capable of pushing, pulling, bending, and moving without assistance.
