Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Unit team at Cody Regional Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer nursing care to patients in an efficient, safe, and courteous manner using proper nursing procedures.
- Support patients and families during the dying process, providing emotional support and guidance as needed.
- Perform admission assessments and subsequent assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Complete required documentation, including medical records and reports.
- Address patient learning needs, educate patients and families, and promote health literacy.
- Develop and implement care plans, including medication administration, wound care, and other interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and analysis, to drive process improvements and enhance patient care.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using clear and respectful language.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, promoting a positive and supportive care environment.
- Current or temporary Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Experience in medical/surgical and pediatrics nursing or a recent graduate of an accredited school of nursing or has recently completed an accredited refresher program preferred.
- Knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles, aseptic technique, and infection control principles.
- Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations, prioritize multiple tasks, and interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to serve as an example to other employees.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in critical care nursing or a recent graduate of an accredited critical care program.
- Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation.
- Ability to operate and manage equipment, including IV pumps, PCA pumps, feeding pumps, telemetry monitors, CPAP and Bi-PAP machines, defibrillators, and Doppler.
