Job Overview

The Store Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties. This role involves knowledge of each product area or department in our store, as well as determining methods and approaches necessary to accomplish store goals and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets, consulting on establishing action plans, and assuming responsibility of the entire store in their absence.\
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary, ensuring awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses.\
  • Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities and standards are completed, keeping the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.\
  • Maintain quality customer service, performing general administrative duties as needed and being trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.\
  • Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear, upholding all policies, procedures, and standards.\
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures.\
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\
  • Interview, train, and direct employees, as well as resolve problems, promoting a team-player environment and outstanding customer service.\
  • Monitor and maintain store appearance, ensuring a clean and organized store environment that promotes sales and customer satisfaction.\
  • Continuously improve store operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.\
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to set goals and objectives, working together to achieve store targets and contribute to the company's success.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.\
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience.\
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.\
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.\
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle precision tasks.\
  • A self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked, demonstrating a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.\
  • A team-player attitude, committed to contributing to a positive store environment and achieving sales targets.
