Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Systems Technician to join our team at Trident Seafoods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining ammonia refrigeration units and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration equipment to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning components or equipment in ammonia refrigeration systems, including replacing faulty parts, recharging refrigerant, and adjusting controls.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to ammonia refrigeration systems, monitoring and maintaining records of system performance, leak detection, equipment inspections, and safety protocols.
  • Be available for emergency response and troubleshooting in case of system failures or leaks, acting quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime and potential risks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment inventory, preparing reports and documentation as required.
  • Provide guidance and training to other technicians or employees regarding safe operation, maintenance, and best practices for ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements, energy efficiency, and cost savings, collaborating with the team to implement upgrades or modifications that enhance system performance.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4-year related experience and/or training.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and regulations associated with refrigeration systems, including hazardous materials and emergency response protocols.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in refrigeration systems, utilizing problem-solving techniques and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of relevant certification such as RETA CARO, RETA CIRO, RETA CRST, or equivalent.
Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee moves objects regularly up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
