Electrical Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at DRS Naval Power Systems, INC in Menomonee Falls, WI. This role will involve hands-on design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems, including motor controller and power conversion applications for naval ships and submarines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
  • Roubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and make modifications as needed
  • Compile and evaluate design and test data
  • Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field + at least 3 years of experience in design and product development
  • Knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semi-conductors is much preferred
  • Motivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but also okay with working independently sometimes
  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
