Surgical Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Geisinger Health System. This role offers a competitive pay rate, shift differential, and financial support to become a nurse.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with patient care during surgical interventions for all ages.
• Coordinate treatments with other disciplines and connect patients to clinical equipment.
• Practice aseptic techniques, prepare for surgery, and maintain universal precautions.
• Participate in surgical Time and out, operating room briefing, and ensure accurate supply count and disposal of medical waste.
• Assess and dress wounds as per nurse's instructions and perform quality control monitoring.
• Act as a preceptor for students in the surgical unit and participate in admission, discharge processes, and on-call rotations.

Requirements

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program and have a minimum of 1 year related work experience. Applicants graduating from a Surgical Technologist program after December 31, 2020, will have 6 months from their date of graduation from the program to become Certified.
