Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to enhance our team at Memorial Hospital of Union County.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Provide athletic training services for local high schools, including managing practices and games as needed.
2. Evaluate and assess athletic injuries, administer first aid, and provide initial injury management.
3. Educate athletes on injury management and precautions, and follow up with physicians for further care.
4. Utilize various modalities for injury management, such as heat, cold, stretching, therapeutic exercises, taping, and bracing.
5. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all injuries and treatments, ensuring clear communication with physicians, physical therapists, coaches, and parents.
6. Recommend necessary supplies and oversee the student trainer program.


7. Compile reports on injuries and treatments, collaborating with the Lead Athletic Trainer to analyze data for injury prevention and performance enhancement.
8. Design and implement strength and conditioning programs while educating coaches and athletes on health maintenance and injury prevention.
9. Work with marketing to create promotional initiatives, such as success stories and health tips.
10. Track and report weekly hours to the Lead Athletic Trainer.


11. Under the guidance of a Physical Therapist, administer outpatient and inpatient physical therapy techniques to aid recovery and prevent disabilities.
12. Instruct patients on the use of braces, canes, or crutches, and document relevant information in medical records with co-signature from the supervising Physical Therapist.
13. Communicate essential patient information effectively to the supervising Physical Therapist.

Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with special projects as assigned and continuously develop knowledge of current advancements in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation through literature reviews and continuing education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
• Licensed by the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board.
• Maintain current certification in American Heart Association's BLS.

Work Schedule:

• Shifts: 1st and 2nd
• Hours: 80 per pay period (every two weeks)
