Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Soft-World. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies for our Industrial Heat Exchanger product line.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop major component sub-assemblies, sections, and detail drawings, calculations, bill of materials, and 3D models for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and associated equipment.
  • Supervise the development of drawings and ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Review project customer specifications and prepare major assembly, section, and detail drawings and itemized bill of materials.
  • Coordinate with Associate Project Engineer on the project to which they are assigned.
  • Communicate and assist other departments with calculations and datasheets.
  • Generate weight calculations for parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Develop and maintain 3D model of piping and equipment.
  • Provide thorough checking of drawings and bill of materials.
  • Assist with the review of vendor-generated drawings.
  • Revise drawings and create project as-built drawings if required.
  • Assist in development of General Arrangement and Setting drawing.
Requirements:
  • BS or associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Three (3) years CAD design experience, preferably with HRSG CAD design or similar.
  • Experience with Autodesk suite of design software (AutoCAD, Plant3D, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor, etc.).
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of ASME codes and product application (preferred but not required).
  • Must be organized and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
