Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our food service team as a Cashier and Food Service Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the front serving station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect monies due for food service purchases and prepare, verify, and balance the cash drawer.
  • Provide customer service to all patrons, including answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with the facilitation of online orders and pick-ups, and restock the front serving station as needed.
  • Notify office staff of inventory needs for the front serving station and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Monitor proper beverage temperatures and assemble, prepare, and fill all beverages, yogurts, snack items, and smoothies.
  • Set-up, deliver, and pick-up food and beverage orders for meetings, and assemble and maintain equipment in the front serving station.
  • Update daily menu signage and assist with and/or serve catered events.
  • Communicate inventory needs to sales persons and perform food preparation as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Illinois Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification, or must obtain within first 12 months of employment.
  • Maintain recertification as required.
  • Obtain and maintain Allergen and COVID-19 Awareness Certifications.
  • Related experience, POS and/or cash register/handling experience.
Benefits

McHenry County College offers a competitive benefits package, including a bank of vacation, sick, and personal leave time, an optional Sick Leave Pool, and up to 15 paid holidays depending on work schedule. Part-time employees who work at least twenty (20) hours a week are eligible to receive a tuition waiver for up to nine (9) credit hours for courses taken at MCC, and the College also provides tuition reimbursement for pre-approved course work taken at a regionally accredited institution upon successful completion of such course.
