Job Overview

Position Title: PROTESTANT GOSPEL SERVICE MUSICIAN

Location: Colorado Springs

Travel Requirements: N/A

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver musical accompaniment for worship service segments utilizing either the keyboard or piano.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of musical instruments to confirm they are in working order.
  • Collaborate with the service pastor on music selection as needed.
  • Notify worship team members and the service pastor of song choices at least 48 hours prior to rehearsals.
  • Commit to a minimum of two service units weekly, including one performance and one practice session.
  • Ensure all performance equipment is powered down after use and returned to designated locations.
  • Be present for the entire duration of any agreed-upon rehearsal, performance, or worship service unless previously arranged.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with Chaplain Service personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to read music while playing the piano, along with proficiency in playing by ear.
  • Capable of sourcing music from established hymnals and other approved materials, and preparing suitable music for worship services, funerals, and seasonal events throughout the year.
Education and Experience:
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in playing the piano or keyboard.
