About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to join our team at Westminster Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations
  • Display knowledge of medication side effects, interactions, and nursing implications
  • Account for controlled drugs and report any discrepancies
  • Chart medications, medication omissions, and other pertinent observations
  • Maintain inventory of medications and prepare monthly medication records
  • Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents
  • Perform basic nursing care functions and create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
  • Maintain resident documentation records and attend training programs to enhance quality of care
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter such a program and graduate within 120 days
  • Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and make independent decisions
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is desirable
