Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with the Good Samaritan Society, you will play a vital role in helping patients/residents/clients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises, providing a supportive and enabling environment for them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises, as scheduled in a treatment plan, to improve their ability to perform daily activities.
  • Provide, monitor, and record therapy services to patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions to meet the needs of patients/residents/clients, in line with their goals and the requirements of the practice setting.
  • Contribute to the process of exchanging information with and providing documentation to the occupational therapist about patients'/residents'/clients' responses to and communications during intervention.
  • Be knowledgeable about patients'/residents'/clients' targeted occupational therapy outcomes and provide information and documentation related to outcome achievement.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
  • When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities): Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Conforms to the supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
